A HORA DO METAL: HammerFall

HammerFall é uma banda sueca de power metal. Foi criada em 1993 quando Oscar Dronjak, saiu da banda Ceremonial Oath e convidou Jesper Strömblad (do In Flames, e também um integrante original da banda Ceremonial Oath) para um novo projeto musical que ele estava idealizando.

O primeiro álbum veio em 1996 Glory to the brave

Em 1998, o quinteto lança "Legacy of Kings", um CD de Power Metal. Entre as faixas de destaque, podemos citar "Legacy Of Kings", "Let The Hammer Fall", "Heeding The Call", "Stronger Than All", "At The End Of The Rainbow" e a balada "Remember Yesterday".

Em 2000 lançam "Renegade", tendo como faixas de destaque a faixa título "Renegade", "The Way Of The Warrior" e "Templars Of Steel", contendo solos com mais velocidade, mas não tanto peso como no álbum anterior. O disco foi sucesso de vendas em toda a Europa e na América do Sul.

Dois anos após "Renegade", a banda lança seu mais novo petardo "Crimson Thunder". Em "Crimson Thunder" há faixas que já nasceram clássicas do HammerFall, como: "Hearts of Fire", "The Unforgiving Blade", "Trailblazers", "Angel OF Mercy" (cover do Chastain) e a balada "Dream Comes True".

No meio da década a banda presenteia os fãs com mais dois álbuns: Chapter V: Unbent, Unbowed, Unbroken em 2005 e Threshold em 2006.

Em 11 de agosto de 2008 iniciaram as gravações do novo álbum do HammerFall. Intitulado "No Sacrifice, No Victory", o álbum foi lançado dia 20 de fevereiro de 2009, marcando o retorno o do baixista Fredrik Larsson e o primeiro com novo guitarrista Pontus Norgren. Destaque para algumas faixas como: "Any Means Necessary", "Legion", "Hallowed Be My Name", "No Sacrifice, No Victory" e "Life Is Now".

No dia 20 de maio de 2011, é lançado o álbum "Infected" e no ano seguinte um DVD ao vivo no anfiteatro Dalhala. A banda anunciou uma pausa no ano de 2013. Tirando o tempo para a aproveitar com a família e com outros trabalhos, retornando somente em 2014

Em 2014 a banda anuncia o retorno às atividades, já com show marcado para a 25ª edição do Wacken Open Air (2014). Foi anunciado em seu site oficial que o novo disco seria lançado em 29 de agosto do mesmo ano e que seu título seria (r)Evolution.

Em 2016 a banda lança o o décimo álbum de estúdio Built to Last O disco Foi lançado em 4 de novembro pela Napalm Records
